What Is Disk Benchmark?

Disk Benchmark is a free utility to calculate the speed of any hard disk or removable media like a USB flash disk. This program will perform several test on the target drive ,then calculate the speed in megabytes per seconds.
The actual transfer speed will be determined by the speed of the target drive but also by the motherboard, CPU and Ram speed.

Why I write this program?

I write this program because one day i discover that I have so many flash drives on my desk and doesn't know which one is the fastest. I have some drives that are really fast but others with the same brand are very slow.. I downloaded several speed becnhmarks from the internet but they all show me some numbers that only a rocket science can understand, what I really want is a simple megabytes per seconds transfer speed.

Resource-Friendly

Disk Bechmark was written with efficiency in mind. Unlike many other software, it does not hog valuable system resources - typically using less than 8MB of memory. Additionally, the program itself is contained within a single executable less than 1mb in size.

Actively Developed and Improved

I put a lot of time working on features and making things more user-friendly. Releases only come out when they're ready, with no schedule pressures, so the few bugs that appear are quickly addressed and fixed.
